Red Cross Dress Code

Disaster Scenes can often be very complex and hectic, with many parties involved in the crisis and the response. As you know, there are many different agencies involved during a response. It is important to remember that whenever you are responding to a disaster, you are representing the American Red Cross, and it is vital that you are clearly identified as a disaster worker.  Therefore, it is necessary that when responding to a disaster operation that all volunteer and paid staff wear Red Cross identification that is highly visible.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross is implementing a minimum uniform standard for all paid and volunteer staff who report to disaster relief operations. At the minimum, at least one piece of uniform apparel will be a worn, a Red Cross ID, a Red Cross disaster vest, a Red Cross tee shirt or a Red Cross jacket with a Red Cross patch on the front and/or on the back.
