Red
Cross ID Badge
![]() As you are aware from your initial
meeting with Volunteer Services, badges are required for all volunteers
at our chapter. This is
especially important for Emergency Services (ES) volunteers, since our
badges also can act as credentials at a disaster scene.
When a disaster scene becomes a crime scene (such as in a
transportation incident), our badges are considered as the only
proof of service with our organization – so if you don’t have your
badge you, cannot respond to the scene.
We don’t want the lack of a required badge to hold anyone back
from responding, so please come get your badge!
If you have a 2005 badge already, it expires in June, so you will
need to get your new badge. These badges are provided at the DAT meetings, or you can
coordinate with the chapter to have it available at a training, meeting
or other Red Cross event you plan on attending.
You can also pick it up at the chapter directly.
If you have not had your digital picture taken to receive your
updated badge, or if your picture file was somehow corrupted, we will
need to take your picture again before we can provide your badge.
Again, this can be done at any DAT meeting or Red Cross event, as
long as we are notified in advance to bring the digital camera.
There is also the option of sending in a picture yourself.
If you have a digital camera, or an ID photo from work, you
can send in a photo of yourself (shoulder up) in front of a solid
background and as long as the photo is in a compatible format,
we can use it to print your ID badge. If you have questions on badges, please
contact Ellie Moore at mooree@redcross-philly.org.
