Course Descriptions


Babysitter's Training (6.5 hours)

Ages 11-15 learn skills and responsibilities relevant to becoming a babysitter including infant and child supervision, feeding, diapering, staying safe and how to best respond to emergencies. Includes babysitter safety kit.

Blended Learning

A program which blends an online session with a skills practice and assessment session. You can take this class for CPR Adult, First Aid or First Aid with CPR Adult combined. This class is for those who need to be re-certified and for new students.

CPR Adult (3.5 hours)

Trains participants to respond appropriately to emergencies and how to perform rescue breathing, choking and Adult CPR. Includes face shield. Also available in Spanish.

CPR Adult with AED (4.5 hours)

To give individuals in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for breathing emergencies, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. This course is also available in Spanish.

CPR Adult, Child & Infant (5.5 hours)

Learn to respond to emergencies for adults, infants and children, in a single class. Skills include rescue breathing, managing choking victims and Adult and Infant / Child CPR.

CPR Child & Infant (4.5 hours)

Vital skills for parents and individuals in child-care field. Learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies for infants and children.

CPR/AED Adult Review (3 hours)

A refresher course for individuals certified in Adult CPR/AED. Please call for details.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (8 hours)

For Individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a first responder in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness. 2 year certificate.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Review (4 hours)

A Refresher course for individuals with a job-related duty to respond to emergencies. Adult, Infant/Child CPR, Two person rescue and review of pocket mask and bag valve mask use. For nurses, police, fire fighters, coaches and lifeguards. Must hold a current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification. Must bring your book and pocket mask to class.

Emergency Response (52 hours)

To train individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a first responder in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until more advanced medical help can arrive.

First Aid (4 hours)

This program will provide the skills needed to respond to life threatening emergencies such as burns, seizures, and eye injuries.

First Aid with CPR Adult (5.5 hours)

Participants learn how to best respond to emergency situations in the home or office certification using Adult CPR and First Aid.

First Aid with CPR Adult, Child & Infant (8 hours)

Prepares you for just about any family emergency. Includes CPR and First Aid training for an infant, child and adult.

First Aid with CPR/AED Adult (6.5 hours)

Participants learn how to best respond to emergency situations in the home or office so that they are able to provide care for breathing emergencies, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor (34 hours)

Participants qualify to be an American Red Cross CPR/FA/AED instructors. Prerequisite: Candidates must be at least 16 years old.

Lifeguard Instructor (31 hours)

Trains participants to teach Red Cross Lifeguard programs. Prerequisite: Candidates must be at least 17-years-old and hold a current lifeguard certificate.

Lifeguard Training (31 hours)

Comprehensive training for individuals 15 and over who wish to lifeguard at a swimming pool, lake or beach. Includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification.

Pediatric First Aid with CPR Child & Infant (8 hours)

This course teaches how to prevent injuries to children & infants, provides pediatric first aid, prevent infectious diseases, care for ill children and check for required immunization. This program is recognized by the state as the standard for training.

Pet First Aid (4 hours)

Learn how to keep your pets safe and act with confidence until help from a veterinarian can be obtained should your cat or dog sustain an injury or become suddenly ill. Includes a Pet First Aid kit and book.

Pet First Aid Leader (4 hours)

Learn how to instruct others to keep your pets safe and act with confidence until help from a veterinarian can be obtained should your cat or dog sustain an injury or become suddenly ill.

Water Safety Instructor (36 hours)

Learn to teach various Red Cross Water Safety programs (learn to Swim, Basic Water Safety). Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
